Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Certificate–Winter 2020

In the Director’s Report, we noted that our new Jobs Dashboard we will make it easy to find training to get a good job in the global trade and supply chain sector. One of the great training programs for this sector is the Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Certificate (PSCM) provided by Shoreline Community College and starting this quarter also at Highline College.

It is an online certificate program that focuses on the fundamental aspects of the supply/value chain, including methods to improve how organizations find the materials and services needed to make a product or service and deliver it to customers. Supply chain management encompasses the management of all activities involved in sourcing, procurement, production, logistics and customer relations.

Demand is strong for these types of jobs and so Shoreline and Highline have cooperated to ensure there is training to meet the demand. Starting this quarter, students can take two classes that apply towards the PSCM. A five credit Introduction to Logistics (BUSN 105) and Materials Management (BUSN 183) are both being offered at Highline College this quarter.

All credits earned in the Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Certificate will transfer to Highline’s AAS in International Business and Trade and its BAS in Global Trade and Logistics. Students can also transfer credits to Shoreline Community College’s Purchasing and Supply Chain Management AAAS program.

See the PSCM certificate program for full details.
