Assessing Skills Gap with Chmura

Your Center of Excellence for Global Trade and Supply Chain Management is one of a number of Washington State Centers of Excellence involved in a pilot project giving us access to real time data and analytics provided by CHMURA. CHMURA is providing the Center with software tools to allow us to dig deeper and really understand the supply chain workforce on the local and national level with the most up-to-date information on demographics, industries, occupations, wages, and more.

Using data and analytics provided by Chumra, we are able to provide an assessment of reported skills gaps in transportation, storage, and distribution managers in Washington, a group that includes supply chain managers. In red, it illustrates the supply deficit, meaning the skills that employers are looking for but are not finding enough workers with those qualifications. As you can see, the most significant gaps are skills in using software focused database management and analytics.

Companies large and small have accumulated massive amounts of data over the years, creating a need for workers who know how to streamline and interpret that data in a way that helps them predict trends, dentify opportunities and stay ahead of their competition by providing them with insights into consumer behavior or market conditions before they actually happen.
