Study Abroad Program 2024-2025 Application

We are thrilled to learn of your interest in the Study Abroad Program (2024-25) - Follow the Supply Chain to Vietnam. This program consists of a series of virtual workshops during Winter Quarter 2025 and Spring Quarter 2025.  Participants will then visit at least two companies in Washington State during August 2025.  The actual trip to Vietnam is tentatively scheduled to take place from September 11th through September 20th, 2025,

Application Requirements: 

Must be enrolled in a minimum of ten (10) credits at one of the participating colleges at the time of application AND be enrolled in a minimum of five (5) credits per quarter, at one of the participating colleges, for Winter, Spring and Fall Quarters 2025.

Must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 at the end of Spring Quarter 2025.

Must be in reasonable physical conditions for walking, standing, and seating unassisted - due to limited ADA accessibility in Vietnam.

Must have a valid U.S. passport with an expiration date of beyond/after March 15, 2026, OR be able to apply for a valid U.S. passport within 30 days of being accepted into the study abroad program.

Must be in compliance with U.S., Vietnam, and other international travel rules and regulations, including the ability to exit/return to the U.S. and to obtain a Vietnam entry visa. Participants with a criminal record may be denied an entry visa to Vietnam, as well as transiting through a third country.

 Program Fee:  $1,200 / see below for scholarship information.

Scholarship information

Scholarship funding of $600 is available for students with demonstrated financial need, including those receiving federal financial aid, Pell Grant, and WSAC. Please complete the attached scholarship application.

Program fee, along with sponsor donations, will cover airfare to/from Vietnam, seven (7) nights of hotel accommodations, two meals per day, shuttle transportation in Vietnam, travel insurance, and program excursion costs.

Participants are responsible for all other costs including passport (if needed), Vietnam entry visa ($25), travel vaccinations, personal supplies, and spending money.

Responsibilities after Trip:  Must be willing to participate in presentations about the trip at programs at your college in the fall.

This Program is made possible THANKS to the generous sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Education Center for International Business Education & Research housed at the University of Washington Global Business Center and Alaska Airlines. In addition, special THANKS to the Foundations at each of the participating colleges: Columbia Basin College, Highline College, Lake Washington Technical Institute, North Seattle College, Shoreline Community College, Tacoma Community College, and Wenatchee Valley College. The total estimated cost for each participant in the Study Abroad Program (2024-25) - Follow the Supply Chain to Vietnam is approximately $2,400. We are able to only charge $1200 (or $600 with a scholarship) thanks to the generous contributions of sponsors and the foundations.
