Buyer and Purchasing Agents

These workers purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. They also procure raw or semifinished materials for the purposes of manufacturing. They also participate in the negotiation of contracts and monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations. Their job duties include preparing purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services, analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
